Johnstone Supply is looking for a Branch Manager to lead day-to-day operations of our wholesale distribution branch. In this role, you will drive sales performance, profitability, operational excellence, and customer experience while developing a high-performing team.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll guide store operations, coach employees, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure the branch operates efficiently and safely.

What You'll Do

Lead and Develop the Team

  • Set clear expectations for store performance and individual employee success.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop employees through regular feedback and one-on-one meetings.

  • Conduct staff meetings and ensure team members are informed on company updates and operational priorities.

  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring to build a strong branch team.

  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to support employee growth and promotion.

  • Create schedules and staffing plans that meet business demands.

  • Maintain a safe workplace by enforcing safety procedures and ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and employment laws.

Drive Business Performance

  • Partner with leadership to set sales and profitability goals for the branch.

  • Monitor performance against targets and take corrective action when needed.

  • Identify opportunities to grow sales, including promoting e-commerce and online account adoption.

  • Provide customer insights and leads to Territory Managers and leadership.

  • Manage local pricing and quoting within company guidelines.

  • Use customer activity reporting to track purchasing trends and improve engagement.

  • Control operational expenses including labor, supplies, freight, and utilities.

Oversee Operations

  • Manage branch inventory to ensure accuracy, availability, and security.

  • Implement and maintain cycle counting programs.

  • Oversee warehouse and delivery operations including receiving, labeling, storage, and order fulfillment.

  • Ensure delivery schedules are met and customer orders are accurate and on time.

  • Manage product returns and warranty processing while balancing customer satisfaction with company guidelines.

  • Maintain store facilities, equipment, and security procedures.

  • Ensure daily cash balancing and bank deposits.

Deliver Outstanding Customer Service

  • Set the standard for professional, responsive customer service.

  • Work directly with customers, especially during busy periods or with key accounts.

  • Encourage add-on sales and suggestive selling to grow revenue.

  • Support inside and outside sales activities and participate in sales calls when needed.

  • Build strong relationships with customers and contractor partners.

  • Ensure the showroom, warehouse, and facility are clean, organized, and merchandised effectively.

  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally.

What You Bring

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum 2 years of store management or operations experience in a wholesale environment

  • Strong leadership and team development skills

  • Ability to analyze financial reports and manage branch profitability

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

  • Professional appearance and commitment to ethical business practices

Preferred

  • College degree in Business or related field

  • Experience in HVACR or a similar industry

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position operates in a combination office, warehouse, and wholesale store environment.

Employees may be required to:

  • Stand, walk, sit, and use hands for extended periods

  • Occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or balance

  • Lift up to 70 pounds

  • Work around warehouse racks, bins, and operational equipment
